A project by architect Stefano Boeri with engineering by Arup, the Bosco Verticale building has become a symbol of the new Milan
Bosco Verticale is a new symbol of sustainable, ecological architecture, winner of the 1st prize at the 2014 International Highrise Awards, reinforcing the prestige of Stefano Boeri and of Italian architecture all over the world. What is unusual about the complex is the presence of more than two thousand trees and shrubs planted right on its walls. In this ambitious metropolitan reforestation project, vertical densification of greenery aims to increase the biodiversity of plant and animal species in the city of Milan, reduce urban sprawl and contribute to mitigation of the microclimate.
Construction of the containers for the plants and the big window frames required use of particularly high-performing anchorage systems. AdermaLocatelli supplied ZH with GP54/33 anchor channels. GP54/33 anchor channels had just received ETA12/0433 certification to European standards.
